The date has been set, the menu is being planned, and we are extremely excited to share with everyone that once again, we will be lining 14th Street West with tables and chairs to enjoy a local feast with our friends and neighbors. The Wild Ramp’s Annual Farm to Table Dinner has been scheduled for Saturday, September 30th, 2017. Social hour begins at 5 pm and dinner will be served at 6 pm. There will be delicious local food, great music, and wonderful company in the heart of Old Central City once again as we bring everyone together for our annual fundraiser dinner.
What is the market raising money for this year? The Wild Ramp is hoping to fund a major investment in the market; a backup generator in order to help protect the frozen foods and produce in the case of power loss. We have been shopping for a pre-owned generator that will fit our needs and the cost is estimated at $25,000.
Over the past year, we have had several close calls due to power outages. Although we do have a plan in place to safeguard these products, it involves relocating them offsite. Unfortunately, this plan is less than optimal because it is labor intensive and can damage products’ packaging, and it does not offer a solution if we lose power overnight. Therefore, we are very hopeful that we can raise enough money for this investment that will protect our farmers’ precious products for many years to come.
