Tomato Day Celebration

Tomato HeartTomato season is in full swing! The Wild Ramp is joining with Central City Market for their annual Tomato Day Celebration, Saturday August 9th, 8 am – 1 pm. Join us as we celebrate summer and all things tomato-related. Juicy samples, a homemade salsa contest, hot food vendors featuring tomato-y goodness, and much more. Salsa Contest: Show us your skills! We are inviting all home chefs to whip up their best tomato salsa. This is a free contest. There will be a three-person judging panel as well as the opportunity for the public to sample the salsas and vote for their favorite. The rules are simple. Rules:

  • Sign-up in-store or by calling The Wild Ramp at 304-523-7267.
  • Whip up some fabulous salsa.
  • Bring in 1 quart of salsa on Friday, August 8 or Saturday, August 9 by 9:00 am. Fill out entry form that will be provided.
  • Judging will take place on Saturday, August 9, at 11 am. (You do not need to be present to win.)

Central City Market is donating the prizes – 1st Place – $100, 2nd Place – $75, 3rd Place $50, 4th Place – $25.

    Do you have to be present to win the salsa contest? I’ll be out of town on August 9, but could drop it off on August 8. Thanks!

      Hi, you do not need to be present to win. Also, Central City Market has donated prize money – so 1st place is now $100!
