Erwin Farm Eggs, 12ct
Description
Erwin Farm – Cabell Co. WV
Once upon a time… there was a man and his wife that lived in Cabell County WV. He said to his wife “What would you think of us getting a few hens so we can have our own eggs?” She thought about it for a few minutes and said “Ok.” So off to the feed store they went and purchased 6 little pullet chicks.
The little chicks grew like weeds, but they noticed that something was strange about these chicks. They acted differently from any that they had raised before. So, when the “Hens” began to crow it became quite apparent they were all ROOSTERS except for one. The wife said “Well we are not going to get many eggs out of these roosters, so they found the little roosters a new home and off to the feed store they went. They purchased more chicks, fenced in their yard, built a house for them and all was well. Then the man said to his wife “What would you think of us getting some more chicks?” She thought about it for a moment and said “OK”. Off to the feed store they went again. Now they had 24 hens.
All was well in the Erwin household and as the hens began to lay eggs and friends and family found out that the man and the woman had fresh eggs, they all began to ask if they would sell them! So, the couple got their legal permits to sell eggs and they were now in the egg business.
But the story doesn’t end there. The man and the woman didn’t know that after you get those frist few little cute fuzzy balls of feathers, that you get “chick fever”!
So even though the man and the woman had this terrible disease for which there was no cure, this story goes on because the man said to the woman just the other day, “What would you think of us getting a few more hens? so, off to the feed store they went. Now 35 chickens later…
